Privacy Policy

Last updated March 10, 2026 · Your privacy matters

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly — name, email, professional title, photo, and bio. We also collect activity data such as events RSVPed, connections made, and messages sent, as well as automatically collected data including device info, IP address, and usage patterns.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to operate and improve the Platform, personalize event recommendations, facilitate member connections, send transactional communications, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Information Visible to Other Members

Your profile — name, photo, title, bio, and city — is visible to verified members by default. You can control field visibility in Privacy Settings. Direct messages are private between participants. Your RSVP status on public events may be visible to other attendees.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies to maintain your session, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, though disabling them may affect some Platform features.

5. Third-Party Services

We work with trusted providers for payments (Stripe), email delivery, analytics, and event management. These partners are contractually required to protect your data. Connected social accounts only share data you explicitly authorize.

6. Data Security

We use TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and restricted internal access. No system is fully secure — please use a strong password and contact security@districtsocialclubdc.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Data Retention

Personal data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, your information is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your data via Settings. You may also request a data export, opt out of marketing, and restrict certain processing. Contact privacy@districtsocialclubdc.com to exercise these rights.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

Significant changes will be communicated via email and a Platform notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
